Employment Support Officer

The Organisation:

AsIAm is Ireland’s National Autism Charity based in Blackrock, Co. The Role:

AsIAm is seeking a full-time Employment Support Officer, who will play an integral role within the Employment and Post 18’s Transitions Department. The role reports directly to the Head of Employment and Post 18’s Transitions Department.

This role is best suited to someone who has experience in knowledge translation (i.e., training, coaching etc) and who is deeply familiar with the employee lifecycle alongside barriers impacting the Autistic community in the workplace. They would be comfortable liaising with both the jobseeker alongside the employer (corporate, NGO etc).

A core aspect of the role will focus on identifying employment opportunities from AsIAm’s employment partners and matching them to community members. This role requires building relationships with key personnel within our employment partners organisations and supporting them towards becoming more inclusive.

We particularly welcome applications from neurodivergent individuals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the implementation and development of AsIAm’s Employment Programme

• Provide direction and support to Autistic candidates seeking employment

• Co-lead the design of a training curriculum for employers, as part of an Erasmus project

• Develop positive relationships with key stakeholders, communities, businesses (including Communities of Practice), and the Autistic community

• Assist with AsIAm Communities of Practice and events

• Participate in company projects and collaborations with other companies

• Deliver careers/ employment workshops for the Autistic community including HEI students

• Develop an internship and graduate programme between HEI’s and companies        

• Provide 1:1 career supports (job matching) for individuals seeking employment    

• Monitor both successes and challenges and prepare comprehensive reports for the Head of Employment & Over 18’s Transitions/ executive as required

• Participate in the overall team to ensure collaborative teamwork and support other team members as required

• Collaborate with the Fundraising Manager on canvasing new companies

Key Requirements:

Experience, Education, Skills, and Abilities Required

• Relevant degree level qualification or substantial experience in a related profession

• 2+ years' experience in a knowledge translation focused role (i.e., training development and delivery, career coaching etc)

• Excellent attention to detail

• Previous sales/promotions or HR experience would be advantageous

• Deep knowledge of Autism and neurodiversity in the context of employment

• Willingness to travel

Contract Duration:

This is a fixed term contract for one-year, with the potential to be extended subject to funding.

Salary and Benefits:

Salary will align with Grade IV as set out in the HSE Consolidated Pay Grades.

Working Hours:

The role is typically Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm with some flexibility around start and finish times.

The role holder is required to have a degree of flexibility regarding working hours with the expectation of some evening and weekend work.

Location:

The role is based in AsIAm HQ in Blackrock, Co. Dublin.  Hybrid working options are available for this role and can be agreed with the line manager subject to the organisation’s needs.
