The AsIAm ID card costs €27.50 and comes with an AsIAm Lanyard and card protector. This cost covers admin, postage, printing and production.
Please allow us up to eight weeks for your application to be processed and card to be delivered as our cards are printed in batches. Please expect a delay to this timeframe if incorrect or inaccessible information (e.g., photo or report) is submitted in initial application. Please note that we cannot expedite/speed up a card. Emails/calls requesting expediting/speeding up delivery will therefore all receive the same response regards once monthly printing method.
Yes. You are required to complete the application and the cost is the same due to admin, printing and equipment. In place of proof of diagnosis, you have the option to upload a picture of the previous AsIAm card.
Childrens cards are valid for 3 years.
Adults cards are valid for 5 years.
The card serves as a proof of diagnosis and you can use it when interacting with different service providers, including public servants and those working in private businesses. Any support provided is at the service’s discretion.
It does not automatically entitle cardholders and/or their companions to discounts or preferential treatment over other customers, though AsIAm is currently engaging with numerous businesses and service providers to provide certain supports and benefits to cardholders.
In order to be eligible for an Autism ID Card, proof of diagnosis is required.
The purpose of the applicant's formal confirmation of diagnosis is to support the integrity of the card and prevent abuse of its use. We accept the following formal confirmation of Autism diagnosis:

- Important: Diagnosis reports for disabilities or neurodivergence that are not Autism, such as dyspraxia, dyslexia or ADHD, will not be accepted. Letters or reports that state the person is awaiting Autism assessment, but has not yet had the assessment, will not be accepted. Letters or reports that do not include the section where the person is confirmed as Autistic will not be accepted.
These may be scanned and uploaded with the initial application. They will be appropriately destroyed as soon as the card is produced and will not be re-used or shared with any third party. Please note that if it is a password protected document, we will require the password to access the file.
We will also require a picture of the applicant.
