AsIAm has commissioned Dr Amy Hanna to conduct a piece of researcher on the topic of Codes of Behaviour in Irish schools. This research is funded under the Irish Human Rights Equality Commission Grant Scheme 2023/2024.
The aim of this research is to explore whether randomly selected schools Codes of Behaviour are compliantt with the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disability (UNCRPD) and the United Nations Convention of the Rights of the Child (UNCRC).
Stage one of this research is almost complete with the analysis of over 40 randomly selected schools Codes of Behaviour covering primary, post primary and special schools.
The second stage of this research is to conduct two focus groups.
Focus group 1 will engage with parents/guardians of autistic children, if you’re interested in participating in this research, please read carefully the information below and fill out this expression of interest form.
Focus group 2 will engage with autistic young people aged 11-17, if your child is autistic and interested in being a part of this research focus group on Codes of Behaviour, please read carefully the information below and fill out this expression of interest form.
