Carl started as a Policy Officer for AsIAm in our Community Support Team in September 2023. His background is mainly in the area of political campaigning, public policy and communications. He served as Academic Officer for DkIT during the Covid-19 pandemic where he oversaw DkIT's campaign for Technological University status and academic supports for disadvantaged students while in lockdown. Carl is working on policy and research matters affecting the Autistic community from social protection and employment to education and assessment of needs. Carl also coordinates with other pillars of the community support team ensuring that the people who AsIAm support are represented on our public policy work, lobbying changemakers for better policies for Autistic people and families and collaborating with other organisations on the policy changes needed for the Autistic community. He has an NGO background working in policy and public affairs for groups such as students, older people and the traveller community over the course of the last 3 years. Carl's other interests include theatre, filmmaking and football coaching where he holds his FAI coaching badges.
